Kandy

I had been wondering why I couldn't do much better in my leisure times. Especially on my vacation. I really loved to be a traveller since my childhood. Sri Lanka has some beautiful sceneries like no other country. I assume that people must visit those places and enjoy the beauty without doing any harm to nature. Because nature itself is the best gift which the god has bestowed upon us. As a part of mother nature, we must be forever grateful for that.
In my childhood, being a traveller was the top of my favourite dreams. Being a Sri Lankan is some kind of difficult challenge that a girl can face in her lifetime. Because, in Sri Lanka, a few girls can enjoy themselves without any barriers. Others only can enjoy looking at the pictures of beautiful places.
Fortunately, I have understanding parents and a supportive boyfriend. I suppose, everyone should have achieved their dreams. In most of the Asian countries, there are girls who love travelling but they are not allowed to do so. It is controversial. I don't want to make any judgements about people behaviours and mind.

Let me begin the trip now...

My boyfriend and I wanted to go somewhere like an ordinary couple. Since we had to please our parents, our trip had to be one day. One of our friends, named Nalin also joined us. He is really friendly and the best part of his presence is having a camera. Unofficially he became our official photographer. One thing I should mention here is that we asked Nalin to get ready and come to the road by 7.00 am but he had been waiting for one hour until we came to pick him.

We bought some snacks before we enter the highway. All the time, what we did most is gossiping. We stopped for tea at someplace near kadugannawa. We took some beautiful pictures too there. Our first stop was Gatambe Bodhiya which is famous among Buddhists for miracles.
After doing religious rites at Gatambe, we headed to Kandy. It was almost noon when we arrived at Kandy. We bought some flowers (Bluewater lilies).

As it was Tevava time, luckily we got the chance to worship the Sacred Tooth Relic closely. ‘Tevava’ would mean a service ritual conducted daily at regular times of the day in the morning, noon and evening. It is similar to a Buddha-puja.

The place was crowded at the time. People were impatiently waiting for doing the rituals. We got some beautiful pictures inside and outside the temple as well. It was a really amazing and fresh experience for us. As a couple, we were really happy doing religious rites and participating in some religious activities together.

I suppose, either you are a Buddhist or any other devotee, you must visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic once.
